Fundamentals of Dental Hygiene is designed to introduce the student to the fundamental concepts of dental hygiene practice; instrumentation; instrument sharpening; assessment of health, dental, and periodontal status of patients; infection control and OSHA regulations. This course closely integrates theory with practice obtained in the Dental Hygiene Practice I (DHG 115), thus providing a base from which the learner may develop the skills, knowledge, and judgment required to adequately serve the public and the profession of Dental Hygiene. Offered: Fall Prerequisite: Admission to the Dental Hygiene Program Applicable toward graduation at CSC where program structure permits: Degree or Certificate -AAS, AGE, All Certificates General Education - Not Applicable
