This course provides an orientation to the teaching profession. It is designed for those who are considering a career in education. Among the topics studied are Motives for Teaching, Social Problems and Tension Points in Schools, Curriculum, Technology, Legal and Ethical Issues, and Philosophical Foundations. In addition, there is a minimum 32-hour required field experience component. One hour of the four-hour credit is field experience. A majority of this work must be done outside of class time. Offered: Fall, Spring Applicable toward graduation at CSC where program structure permits: Degree or Certificate - AA, AS, AAS, AAT, AGE, All Certificates General Education - Not Applicable, Elective Only
