This course is the third in the series for the Psychiatric Rehabilitation Certificate. Courses in the series focus on a rehabilitative approach to serving individuals with severe mental illness. This approach is based on the premise that consumers set the goals for the rehabilitation team. The course has six major themes: Historical Aspects; Social Trends and Legislative Policy; Vocational Rehabilitation Model; Fields of Practice; Vocational Rehabilitation Programs and Technology; and Job Placement/Living Services. The orientation of this course is more practical than theoretical. This course is appropriate for students planning careers in the mental health field. Offered: As Needed Prerequisite: PSY 160 Applicable toward graduation at CSC where program structure permits: Degree or Certificate -AAS, AGE, All Certificates General Education - Not Applicable, Elective Only
