This course will begin with an introduction to the history of nail care. Cells, metabolism, and body systems will be studied with respect to nail disorders and health. Basic concepts of bacteriology will also be covered for sanitation, disinfection, and sterilization purposes. Professional ethics will be stressed along with general people skills as students examine the role and responsibilities of the licensed nail technician.
