20 Credits (13 Lectures, 14 Labs) Designed to meet the U.S. Department of Transportation, Arizona Department of Health Services, Office of Emergency Medical Services requirements for EMT - Intermediate. Provides advanced knowledge and skills related to hypoperfusion states, respiratory arrest or insufficiency, seizure states, cardiovascular emergencies, unconscious states of undetermined etiology, head injury with altered levels of consciousness, and chest trauma. Current EMT certification for one year. Comprehensive written, oral and practical evaluation on basic EMT skills. Prerequisites: Valid EMT certification; HCP CPR; and DHS Requirements.
