1 Credit (1 Lecture) This course presents an introduction to breastfeeding principles for the health care professional. It is the prerequisite to the Certified Breastfeeding Counselor course, and covers such topics as the decision to breastfeed, basic anatomy and physiology of milk production and consumption, normal breastfeeding, feeding behaviors, growth patterns, nutritional needs, and breastfeeding concerns.
