Lecture) *15 wks This course will examine individual rights under the Constitution, with a concentration on the due process rights of criminally accused persons. The focus will be on United States Supreme Court cases, from the revolutionary "Warren" era to the present, and the development of the doctrine of due process in the criminal justice system in America. The course will examine in significant detail how the construction, interpretation and application of the standards set by the Court impacts justice policy as well as the lives of the average citizen. Prerequisite: CRJ 101.
