The overall goal of the course is to enable students to improve the effectiveness of their interpersonal communication skills in their personal and professional lives. The course covers the nature of communication, the importance of one's identity, the role of perception and emotions, and the importance of active listening. It examines the nature of language and non-verbal communication and considers gender and cultural differences. It focuses on improving communication in relationships, concentrating on relational dynamics, communication climates, and interpersonal conflict.
