The time period beginning with the colonial period to 1877 will be covered with particular focus on critical analysis of historical events in this time frame. Such events can include: Native American culture, the European discovery of the new World, the social, political and military aspects of the American Revolution, the Louisiana Purchase, the "Trail of Tears," the New Democracy of Andrew Jackson, slavery and the Civil War.
