Students will study and analyze the many different aspects of United States politics, including political culture, the founding period, the constitution, the federal system, public opinion and the mass media, campaigns and elections, political parties, interest groups, Congress, the presidency, the bureaucracy, the judiciary, public policies, civil liberties, civil rights and international and defense policies. In addition, the student will study and analyze how power operates as a part of political culture, various institutions and important actors within American politics.
