Lecture) *15 wks Philosophy 151 will examine the major philosophers and philosophies of Western thought starting with the early Greek and Christian thinkers, followed by an examination of the arrival of science and the new trend toward rationalism. The course ends with an investigation of the modern, more individualistic philosophies of Existentialism and Nihilism. Western Philosophy will also address the major philosophical questions regarding happiness, reason, emotions, and God.
