Introduction to black and white fine printing in the traditional wet darkroom. Course includes a basic overview of the Zone System, with the goal of "pre-visualizing" a scene as a finishedphotograph being an expected outcome. Students work with fiber base printing paper, print bleaching, toning, archival print finishing and other advanced techniques to create an expressive print statement. Creative problem solving and development of personal vision are a course emphasis. Weekly shooting and printing assignments, class critiques and a final project are part of the course. Recommended prerequisite: ART 161. Credits: 3 Lecture: 1.5 Lab: 4.5
