Introduces the broad range of issues and approaches in political theory. Examines the diversity of the field, as it includes both classic and historical texts as well as contemporary treatments. Introduces the issue of political obligation with the trial of Socrates in ancient Greece. The notion of toleration and its limits is explored in the era of the Glorious Revolution.
