(3 cr.) Teaches principles of photography and fundamental camera techniques. Requires outside shooting and lab work. Begins with the historical ways in which we see western civilization and shows how photography complements Renaissance concepts of space and our relationship to nature. The course will also examine the role of photography in a consumer society including legal issues and moral concerns. Lecture 1 hour. Laboratory 4 hours. Total 5 hours per week.
