This course is a survey of the human organ systems by structure and function. Organ systems include integumentary, skeletal, muscular, nervous, endocrine, circulatory, respiratory, digestive, urinary, and reproductive. The scientific method of inquiry, human reproduction, development, and heredity are other topics integrated into the biology of the human body. This course is designed for students who wish to gain a better understanding of the biology of the human body, including liberal arts majors. This course will include lab-like experiences. Prerequisit(s)e: Course placement into college-level English and Reading OR completion of ENGL 0950 with a grade of C or higher OR completion of RDNG 0940 with a grade of C or higher and qualifying English Placement Exam OR completion of RDNG 0950 with a grade of C or higher and ENGL 0090 with a grade of C or higher OR completion of ESOL 0051 with a grade of C or higher and ESOL 0052 with a grade of C or higher. Recommendation: High school biology or BIOL 1020.
