This is an introductory course that explores the role of a Certified Dental Assistant and a Licensed Dental Assistant. Topics to be covered include dental history, terminology, occupational safety, common dental emergencies, and professional development. This is a chance to explore the dental clinic and dental laboratory utilizing dental instruments and equipment. Students must be able to perform physical tasks to complete course requirements. Acceptance in the Dental Assisting Program is required. Recommendation(s): Concurrently enrolled in DENA 1011 and DENA 1012
