MnTC: Goals 05 & 07 This first-year course is a survey of American economic, political, and social history from pre-European contact through the aftermath of the Civil War. Topics include Colonial America and the Revolution, the creation of an American national identity, and the Civil War and Reconstruction. Students will focus on the contributions of men and women from different ethnic and racial backgrounds.
