Introduction to mathematical analysis of finite collections and mathematical foundations of sequential machines, digital logic circuits, data structures, and algorithms. Includes sets, counting, recursion, graph theory, nets, automata, and formal grammars and languages. Writing assignments, as appropriate to the discipline, are part of the course. Prerequisite: Math 140 with a grade of C or better, or Placement Test, or Consent of Department Chairperson. 200 minutes per week. 4 credit hours.
