Study of state and local political jurisdictions and systems, including their powers, organization, functions, development and contemporary problems. This course will examine the American federal system with special focus directed to the governmental structures and public policies of Illinois. Writing assignments, as appropriate to the discipline, are part of the course. Prerequisite: Political Science 201 or Consent of Department Chairperson. 150 minutes per week. 3 credit hours.
