Study of the principles and techniques of preparing body surface, selecting and mixing paint, and spraying. Work will be performed on sheet metal panels initially, and each student will progress to full bodied automobiles. As refinishing skills increase in proficiency each student will acquire skills in color matching weathered finishes. Because proficiency and quality is expected, students will be given ample opportunities to practice for skill building purposes. All work must be performed in accordance with established standards. Writing assignments, as appropriate to the discipline, are part of the course. 1 lecture and 6 lab hours per week. 3 credit hours.
