This course is designed to familiarize the student with drawing and illustration software packages used in the printing industry for desktop and electronic publishing, image setting, and pre press applications. Emphasis is on hands on practice with various electronic tools used for drawing and illustrations on personal computer systems. Training on the operations of flat bed scanners, laser printers and image setters is included. Writing assignments, as appropriate to the discipline, are part of the course. 2 lecture and 2 lab hours per week. 3 credit hours.
