This course is an advanced study of a page layout software application used in the graphics industry for desktop and electronic publishing, pre press, and image setting. Emphasis is placed on the study of the latest version of Quark XPress software application with hands on operation of personal computer systems, flat bed scanners, laser printers, image setters, color printers and proofers used in the electronic pre press and digital imaging area of graphic communications. Writing assignments, as appropriate to the discipline, are part of the course. 2 lecture and 2 lab hours per week. 3 credit hours.
