Principles and techniques utilized in comprehensive dental hygiene care. Instruction will include the mixing and placement of amalgam, composite, and other restorative materials. Special attention is paid to pain management with the use of local anesthesia and conscious sedation agents commonly utilized in the dental treatment setting. Writing assignments, as appropriate to the discipline, are part of the course. 1 lecture and 2 lab hours per week. 2 credit hours.
