Prerequisite: CA 101 This course is designed to help students understand and utilize the basic forms of creative writing such as creative memoir, poetry, and short fiction. This course is presented in a workshop format focusing on the stages of free writing, drafting, presenting to the class community, and revising. Students will read extensively among the genres in order to develop an understanding of elements such as tone, voice, image, metaphor, setting, character development, dialogue, plot, and conflict.
