Pre/corequisites: COV 1436 This course consists of the practical applications of the study of properties of the hair and scalp; principles of hair design; shampooing, rinsing, and conditioning; haircutting; hairstyling; braiding and braid extensions; hair enhancements; chemical texture services; and hair coloring. Included are classroom theory and lab as governed by Mississippi cosmetology law, rules, and regulations involved in cosmetology practices and safety precautions associated by each. Nine lab hours per week.
