Prerequisite: DDT 1323 This course explores the three-dimensional viewing and construction capabilities of Auto CAD. Topics covered include a review of point coordinate entry, X, Y, and Z filters, and the (UCS) User Coordinate System. Spherical and cylindrical coordinate entry, 3D viewing techniques, 3D geometry construction, surface meshes, regions, and solid modeling are also introduced. The use of paper space, model space, and multiple viewports for 3D construction is covered. The creation of presentation graphics using bitmap files, shading, and rendering is also discussed. One lecture and four lab hours per week.
