credits, 160 clock hours lecture and 96 clock hours lab Prerequisite:: EH 113, Freshman English I, and Acceptance into the PN Program Co-requisites: PN 101, 102, and 104. This course includes fundamental principles and skills necessary to provide basic nursing care. The student is introduced to the concepts of health, needs, stress, nursing process, therapeutic communication, culture, critical thinking, apothecary and metric systems, as well as dimensional analysis for determining safe medication dosage. Emphasis is placed on clinical experiences that allow students to assist adult clients to meet safety, activity, and comfort needs.
