Introduces the general properties adn uses of antibody molecules. Includes an overview immune response, biosynthesis of immunoglobulin, obtain, purifying and labeling antibodies, and using antibodies in a variety of common applications (ELISA, Western blot, immunoprecipitation and immunocytochemistry, antibody-based affinity chromatography). Prerequisite: BIT 109 or 110; BI 112 or CH 100 or higher; or instructor permission.
