Students develop strategies to improve spoken intelligibility, critical thinking, and listening and note taking skills in public speaking with written outlines on academic topics, including those requiring argument and persuasion. Students review English consonants and vowels, intonation, phrasing, and stress patterns. Prerequisite: ESOL placement test; OR concurrent placement in ESOL 250 and 252 or higher.
