Enhances understanding of German culture and contemporary society through analysis of cultural and social issues presented in four German films. May explore issues including but not limited to: love as a medium for representing changing ideas in Germany, east vs. west, personal and national identity struggles, foreigners in Germany, stereotypes, roles of women in German society. Course conducted in English and all films with English subtitles. Students may take only one course in the 262 series: A, B, or C.
