3 CR. (3L) PRQ: REA 090 or equivalent assessment test score. Examines the structure, function, and development of personality. Investigates the major contemporary theories of personality. Covers psychodynamic, behavioral, cognitivesocial learning, humanistic, trait, and, optionally, neurobiological, existential, and/or Eastern perspectives. The underlying assumptions and research support for these theories are appraised. Enables the student to gain an appreciation of the value of alternative theoretical approaches to this study of psychology.
