This course is part of a series of courses which prepares the student to provide pre-hospital care to ill or injured individuals in the capacity of a paramedic. This course provides in-depth assessment and treatment modalities for the patient who is suffering a cardiac event including how to acquire and interpret 12- lead ECGs. Topics include cardiac anatomy, circulatory system, heart sounds, ECG wave forms, ECG axis, identifying acute ECG changes, pathophysiology of the patient experiencing and acute myocardial infraction (AMI) and treatment modalities for the AMI patient. Prerequisites: EMSP 1500, EMT-Basic Certification, CPR Certification
