This course covers the factors that affect dairy profitability. During the classroom phase, the student is introduced on how to evaluate the present profitability of a herd. This will be used to answer the questions: Where are we now? Where do we want to go? How do we get there? The lab portion of the class utilizes various software such as Dairy Comp 305, Consulting Nutritionist, Manure Management Planner, Business Management Planner, and various Excel spreadsheets.
