This course explains the characteristics of sound, including waveform characteristics, sound intensity measurement, types and causes of interference, and basic psycho acoustical concepts. This course presents the theories and procedures involved with a variety of acoustical tests used in the professional audio industry. A student completing this course has an understanding of the basic terminology, theory, and procedures used in a variety of acoustical tests. An elementary discussion of the acoustical properties of room materials and their affect on room acoustics is also included. Students taking this course will learn basic sound measurement equipment use.
