The Emergency Medical Technician - Basic course follows the National Standard Curriculum - the core curriculum to be presented within a 112-hour training course. The EMT-B serves as a vital link in the health care chain of survival. This course will include skills and classroom information neccessary to provide emergency care at the basic life support level. The EMT-B can be utilized in a BLS ambulance service or other specialized rescue agency. Modules presented include: preparation of the EMT-B, airway, patient assessment (medical and trauma), infants and children, ambulance operations, interventions (medical and semiautomatic defribillation).
