In this clinical course, the student will care for the client in a variety of care experiences and across the lifespan. This course prepares the student to expand the application of knowledge, skills, and values from the practical nurse scope of practice to the professional nurse scope of practice. The student will focus on applying the nursing process in the care of the client with acute and chronic illness needs, including referral, and wellness promotion needs including the childbearing client. Students will begin to mentor first-year pathway students. The student will also participate in simulation experiences with a focus on advanced nursing skills using the selected case studies from Professional Nursing.
