This is a non-trig based course designed for students in the prebusiness administration curriculum and for other students requiring an introduction to calculus of one and several variables. Students who plan to take several semesters of calculus should register for the Math 121-122 sequence. Topics covered include linear functions and applications; polynomial, rational, exponential, and logarithmic functions; continuity; limits and differentiation of the elementary functions with applications to rates of change; applications of extrema; implicit differentiation and related rates; approximations by differentials; integration with standard forms and applications to area and volume. Prerequisite: MATH112 or 2 years of high school algebra and minimum score on placement exam
