This course helps students learn the roles and responsibilities of the nursing assistant working in long-term care and of the home health aide working with all ages of clients in the home setting. Information of resident's/client's rights, pertinent laws and ethical issues will be introduced. Concepts of basic human needs, basic nursing and personal care skills, mental health and social needs, and restorative services will also be addressed throughout the course. The skills are performed in a supervised laboratory and long-term care setting.
