This laboratory is an introduction to techniques utilized in organic chemistry. Emphasis is on isolation, purification and characterization of organic compounds. An introduction of gas chromatography and infrared spectroscopy is presented. The experiments are designed to complement the principles concurrently presented in the corresponding lecture class. Lab fee $7.00. Prerequisites: CHEM 1145 & CHEM 2103, or concurrent enrollment in CHEM 2103.
