Respiratory therapy procedures are practiced in specialty areas of the hospital with supplemental information received through physician lectures. The clinical experience is coordinated to cover the areas of infection control and sterilization, physical assessment of the chest and chart review, radiologic assessment of the chest, medical gas administration and delivery systems, humidity and aerosol therapy, pulmonary function testing, IPPB therapy, incentive spirometry and coughing techniques, chest physiotherapy, manual resuscitators, and CPR. Prerequisite: HSRT 2114. Permission of Program Director required.
