Introductory study of the teeth, as well as intraoral and perioral structures. Anatomical features of the teeth and oral cavity are covered in depth. Processes and techniques for constructing dental chartings and dentition findings documentations are detailed. The dental caries process is introduced. Rationales and techniques for the use of pit and fissure sealants, as a supportive primary preventive procedure, are presented. Prerequisites: Current enrollment in the Dental Hygiene program and Reading Proficiency.
