This course will introduce the student to basic theory of fiber optics and its application in the communications industry. This course will teach the student on the selection and use of cables and connectors. The student will have demonstrations and hands-on experience using the 3M Hot Melt Connectors, splice connections, and test equipment to insure they have a maximum light transfer from one service to another. Prerequisite: Reading Proficiency. 16 lecture hours total.
