An overview of prevalent theories of causation, distribution, and frequency of delinquency will be discussed. In addition, the legal system for processing juvenile offenders in the United States will be analyzed. Special consideration will be given to the juvenile justice system in New Mexico. Prerequisites: SOCI 110 or SOCI 213; APEN 070+ or APRD 058+. Introduction to Sociology. Semester offered: Spring.
