A general introduction to archaeology that uses examples from selected world-culture areas to illustrate archaeological field and laboratory methods and theoretical perspectives. The course offers a basic understanding of how archaeologists interpret the past and how archaeology operates within the principles of general anthropology. Prerequisite: ENGL 109.
