An introduction to Laban Movement Analysis (LMA), a comprehensive system for observing, performing, describing, analyzing and notating (human) movement. The categories of body, effort, shape and space are studied in relation to four major themes: human function/expression, inner awareness/outer action, exertion/recuperation and mobility/stability. The Bartenieff Movement Fundamentals are included in this course to develop clarity and ease in basic body patterns of movement. May be taken twice for degree or certificate credit. Offered: Occasionally.
