This course covers a variety of tools and techniques used in mixed-media sculpture, with an emphasis on wood construction. Assemblage as an aspect of the additive approach to sculpture is examined. Students focus on aesthetic, structural and conceptual principles involved in this approach. In addition to wood, materials may include metal, fibers, plastics, found objects, etc. Prerequisite: ARTS 115L. Offered: Occasionally.
