Application of the fundamental principles and procedures of chairside assisting for various dental procedures. Students gain beginning clinical experiences in general assisting techniques using four-handed dentistry concepts with patient contact. Emphasis is on infection-control procedures and management of hazardous materials and chairside psychology. Students learn about types, handling, setting, delivering and retrieving dental instruments. Introduction to expanded intra-oral functions. Permission required. Offered: Fall.
