Play provides a meaningful context in which children can construct literacy knowledge. This course addresses methods in which literacy learning is embedded in play situations. Students will investigate integrated, content-focused activities and examine the design of literacy-rich play settings. This course introduces students to the teacher's role in providing children with countless opportunities to practice reading, writing, speaking and listening. Letter Graded. Offered: Occasionally.
