This course introduces students to the writing process and helps them increase reading speed and comprehension. Students practice prewriting, drafting, revising and editing material for different audiences and purposes. By reading and writing stories, news articles, poems and plays, students learn spelling, sentence structure, grammar and punctuation, pre-reading methods, textbook-marking skills and vocabulary. Eligible for a PR grade. Prerequisite: ENGL 106. Offered: Fall and Spring.
