Sustainable design involves understanding and assessing whole systems design, from residential systems to ecosystems, as well as thinking comprehensively and designing appropriately. The course will survey design systems and guidelines used by creative and technical professionals as frameworks for decision-making, feedback and monitoring. Students will learn how to creatively use these design processes to tackle complex contemporary problems facing our communities involving food, water, energy and other community needs. Offered: Fall.
